The robbery of a Lubbock convenience store early Monday morning lands one person in jail.

Lubbock Police were called to a robbery at the 7-Eleven store at 50th Street and Avenue U around 4:42 a.m. Monday.

A man entered the store armed with a metal pipe and demanded money from the register and cigarettes.

The person fled the scene, but was found hiding in a blue Jeep Cherokee by officers in the 2400 block of 44th Street.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Elias Rene Luna, and he reportedly had evidence of the robbery in his possession.

Luna is charged with aggravated robbery, possession of marijuana, and other charges.
