An octogenarian in Lubbock has been arrested for reportedly holding a man and his child at gunpoint in an alley.

According to Lubbock Police, a man and his small child were in an alley of the 5400 block of 17th Street taking garbage to the dumpster.

After hearing the noises in the alley, 80-year-old Robert Miller reportedly came out of his back gate with a rifle and held the two people at gunpoint around 10:19 p.m. Monday, June 24th.

The victim called police and when they arrived, officers say that Miller still had the two at gunpoint. Officers arrested Miller without incident.

Miller has been charged with aggravated assault, and is being held in the Lubbock County Jail on $10,000 bond.
