
Completed Recount Upholds Victor Hernandez’s Victory in District 1 Election
The City of Lubbock's City Secretary's office completed a recount of last week's District 1 election on Saturday. The recount was requested by one of the losing candidates, Frank Gutierrez.
The recount confirmed Victor Hernandez's (pictured) win in the District 1 race.
The vote breakdown was Victor Hernandez 645 votes (50.74%), Frank Gutierrez 478 votes (37.6%) and Lana "Bear" Moore with 148 votes (11.6%).
The Lubbock City Council will canvass the votes from this month's election during a special meeting on May 19.
