Athletic Turf Field Event to Focus on Management [INTERVIEW]

Dr. Joey Young, AKA The Turf Doctor, with Texas Tech's Plant and Soil Sciences Department joined Lubbock's First News Wednesday (June 24) to discuss an upcoming event.

Along with Field Day being held on July 13 at the Quaker Research Farm, there will also be an afternoon event at the Texas Tech campus called Athletic Turf Field.

Ryan Kaspitzke, the Athletic Field Superintendent Manager at Texas Tech, will be helping with this event.

"We're going to be focusing on athletic field management," said Young.

If people have questions about synthetic turf management, work for ISDs or parks and recreation, Athletic Turf Field is something to consider, Young explained.

The event will be held on July 13 on the Texas Tech campus with registration beginning at 12 p.m. and the event running from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
