It's not over. Another winter storm is heading towards Texas and it could impact much of the same areas as the previous storm.
The people at TexasStormChasers.com are monitoring yet another winter storm which could impact West Texas around Noon on Tuesday before moving East and impacting North Texas all the way down to the Gulf Coast. Overnight Wednesday forecast show snow in North Texas with freezing rain/sleet in Central Texas and ran along the coast.
Early in the day on Tuesday, Lubbock and the South Plains area could see some snow according to the National Weather Service. The good news is it shouldn't be a lot of snow.
Temperatures will still remain below freezing for much of state of Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday. Lubbock may see high's around 34 on Tuesday, but lows will be around 10-11 degrees with a high Wednesday of 28. Lubbock could hit 32 degrees on Thursday before seeing high's in the 50's and 60's on Friday and into the weekend.
It's expected that much of the state will be under a strained power grid on Tuesday and into Wednesday before things improve.
As of Monday night at 9:30 p.m. at least 4.3 million Texans were without power. Many have been without power for hours while others have seen numerous blackouts throughout the day and night. Most of those Texans without power are on the ERCOT grid. Customers in the Southwest Power Pool remain in EEA 2 which means customers are asked to reduce their electricity consumption. Lubbock is currently in the Southwest Power Pool but will be moving to ERCOT in June.
