Sunny skies and hot temperatures are exactly what we are used to in the summer around here and that is what we will be experiencing to start the week in Lubbock, but changes are coming.

Monday and Tuesday will see temperatures across the area spike into the triple digits with Lubbock expecting to see high's above 100 on both Monday and Tuesday. Clouds start to move in on Wednesday which will hold temperatures below 100 with expected highs on Wednesday in the mid to upper 90's. Right now, KAMC calls for about a 20% chance of rain on Wednesday.

As of right now, the forecast calls for real changes to begin on Thursday as thunderstorms could move into the area with highs on Thursday in the upper 80's. A chance of rain hangs around for Friday with temperatures expected to be in the high 80's to low 90's. Chances of rain on both Thursday and Friday are around 30%.

This weekend looks like it could be wet as well with high's in the 80's and rain chances sticking around through at least Sunday evening.

For those who are ready for a slight cool down, you should be very pleased with the weather over the next week and possibly even into the following week.
