Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Matt Rose, LP&L's Public Affairs and Government Relations Manager, joined the broadcast to talk about the power situation on the South Plains.

Rose described the energy landscape, what has taken place so far, and what we may expect in the coming hours.

Rose said:

One of the biggest issues when you have a storm like this, is just making sure you have the ability to evenly distribute electricity throughout the grid, and we've been able to do that...It's been very positive up to this point...We just haven't had quite as much damage as they've had down south with the ice. We'll be putting out a call today, urging people to voluntarily conserve everywhere they can. We don't necessarily see an issue with our local grid here, but we also want to make sure that we support the regional grid, because if they have issues, it's going to affect us too, that's the way it kind of works...This storm has really affected everybody, not just in Texas, but in this region of the country. We just haven't seen the ice necessarily, on our side of the line, like they've seen down in central and east Texas.
