Almost 5” of snow has fallen in Lubbock as of 12:30p. Also 15” of snow has been measured in Tulia and 17” of snow has been recorded in Amarillo today, along with wind gusts up to 75 mph.
Texas Tech University has delayed the start of Tuesday classes until 11am
A number of highways have been closed today due to the blizzard in the South Plains and Panhandle
The biggest news story right now on the South Plains is the weather. Not tornados or hail, but cold temperatures. Yes, it will be cold and uncomfortable, but it's no reason to freak out. In order to have a little fun before the temps fall, I thought we could use this blog for survival tips. They can be serious or light hearted tips depending on your mood while reading this.
