Saturday, April 2, don't be surprised if you see a man or two rocking a set of heels and strutting his stuff at the South Plains Mall. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a fundraising event that raises awareness about sexual crimes.

The event is an annual march for the non-profit agency Voice of Hope: Rape Crisis Center and while heels aren't required, the idea behind the event is to shine the spotlight on the issues women face in the world. Sexual assault and sex trafficking are ruining the lives of young women everywhere and all funds raised at this event will go towards victims of sexual abuse.

A Voice of Hope wants to raise awareness and get men involved in efforts to end these horrible crimes.

Men can rent heels out if they don't have their own and everyone is encouraged to join in. Anyone can register for the event. Kids will be able to join in for free, but adults will have to pay $35. This registration fee alone will provide two personal care packages for victims.

Registration begins Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. with the march starting at 9:30 a.m. To reserve men's heels or a marcher's shirt, register online by March 25.

There will be an after party that will include a meal and musical entertainment. Tickets can be purchased 1 for $50 or 2 for $90. The event will start at 6:30 p.m and end at 9:30 p.m. at the Tierra del Corazon.
