A routine maintenance project is scheduled for I-27 bridges in Lubbock County.

Motorists traveling on I-27 in Lubbock County over the next few months can expect some lane reductions and main lane closures on several bridges as TxDOT begins work on the project.

Work is scheduled to begin next week on the $209,630 project.

Repairs will be made to bridge joints on several structures along I-27.

TxDOT engineers say that motorists should expect various nighttime I-27 lane closures from 82nd Street to Regis Street inside the Lubbock city limits, and daytime closures from Regis Street to Farm-to-Market Road 597 in Abernathy.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the work zone, and to be on the lookout for workers. Message boards will be placed to advise motorists of the lane closures.

The work is being performed by Winding Road Construction of Bigfork, Minnesota. The project is scheduled to be completed by September 2013.
