Two Texas Tech cheerleaders are showing off their skills in London at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

John Chebret, a junior exercise and sport sciences major from Humble is a current member of the Tech cheer squad, and Logan Lefler, a 2008 business graduate from Combine, are part of a cheer squad that will cheer for the men’s basketball semifinal and finals.

Both men are staff members of the Universal Cheerleaders Association, which led to them being selected for the team.

The squad is comprised of outstanding college cheerleaders and top instructors from throughout the United States, which is the birthplace of organized cheerleading.

“I’m beyond excited to be selected for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Chebret.

“I’m very proud of John and Logan for getting this opportunity,” said Bruce Bills, Texas Tech’s cheer coach. “Both are elite-level cheerleaders who will be great representatives of Tech Cheer and the USA.”
