Trial in Fort Hood Shootings Could Face More Delays

A man charged with a deadly shooting rampage at a Texas military base may have his trial postponed. Major Nidal Hasan's attorney's were requesting Tuesday that the June trial date be pushed back until October for the murder of 13 of his fellow soldiers at Fort Hood.

Military judge Col. Gregory Gross is considering the postponement, but it's unknown if he will make a decision on the request. He had previously delayed the court-martial from march after a similar request from the defense.

Hasan faces 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder. He would face the death penalty if convicted. The shootings took place in November 2009.

Last week, Gross denied a defense request to remove the death penalty as a punishment option if Hasan is convicted.
