Texas Tech will kick off a women’s conference next week with a film viewing.

The 28th Annual All-University Conference on the Advancement of Women in Higher Education will take place on Thursday, April 12th, and Friday, April 13th.

The conference will begin with the documentary “Pray the Devil Back to Hell,” directed by Gini Reticker, which tells the story of the Liberian women that helped to bring peace to their country.

The film viewing will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Auditorium of the International Cultural Center, located at 601 Indiana Avenue. Following the viewing, Robin Chandler, associate professor of African American studies at Northeastern University will speak.

This year’s conference theme is “Women and Global Change: Achieving Peace Through Empowering Women.”
