Texas Tech Red Raiders and Lady Raiders remain in top 15 of track, field, and cross country rankings.

Both squads were ranked 14th in the Week 2 edition of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Texas Tech is one of two Big 12 schools to have both its men’s and women’s teams in the top 15.

The Red Raiders stayed at 14th for the second consecutive week after appearing at No. 16 in the outdoor preseason rankings. The Lady Raiders fell one spot after climbing to 13th last week.

The groups are coming off a record breaking performance after hosting the Texas Tech Open last Saturday, and enter the week with nine student-athletes appearing in the top 20 of the national outdoor performance list.

This week marks the 34th consecutive week in which the Red Raiders have appeared in the top 20 of the regular season USTFCCCA computer rankings, and the 48th consecutive appearance in the top 25 dating back to 2008.

The Lady Raiders have appeared in the top 25 of every regular season ranking since the start of the 2012 season.
