Two Texas Tech law students have taken the top two spots at a regional competition.

The duo from the Texas Tech School of Law won the regional competition of the ABA Law Student Division Negotiation Competition.

The competition simulates legal negotiations in which teams seek the best outcome for their respective clients, and third-year student Jessica Haseltine of Abilene and second-year student and Midland native Sara Norman composed the winning team.

They will now advance to the competition’s national finals, which will take place during the ABA Midyear meeting in Dallas on February 8th and 9th.

Team coach and professor Wendy Adele Humphrey commented on the victory, saying “I am very proud of the team’s dedication leading up to the competition, as well as the way they represented Tech Law at the regional competition.”
