Texas Tech Homecoming week is underway, but some modifications have been made to the schedule to accommodate other events and regulations.

Monday and Tuesday included no events due to the University’s fall break, but five days of events are scheduled from October 12th through the 16th.

On Wednesday, members of various Texas Tech student organizations will compete in Student Organization Sing at 8 p.m. in the United Spirit Arena.

Thursday will feature Preston Pugmire, a unique one-man band in the Student Union Courtyard from noon until 1 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., the Techsan Memorial will be held in Memorial Circle to honor students, faculty, staff, and alumni who have passed away.

On Friday, Homecoming Court and Spirit Board winners will be announced at the Rowdy Raider Rally at noon in the North Plaza outside the Student Union. The Top Techsan Luncheon, sponsored by the Texas Tech Alumni Association will be held at noon in the Merket Alumni Center, the annual Homecoming dinner and reception, dubbed “A Matador Evening”, will be held at 6 p.m. in the Merket Alumni Center as well. Texas Tech Soccer will play Kansas at 7 p.m. at the John B. Walker Soccer Complex, and admission is free with a Kansas State football ticket, and a pep rally will be held at the soccer complex immediately following the soccer game.

Due to Lubbock County’s burn ban, Friday night’s traditional bonfire will not be held.

Saturday’s festivities include the Homecoming Parade at 10 a.m., which begins at Broadway and Avenue V, and will end at 18th Street between Boston and Flint on campus. Raidergate opens at 2 p.m., and kickoff for Tech’s football game versus Kansas State at Jones AT&T stadium is at 6 p.m.

On Sunday, the Red Raider soccer team will play against the University of Texas at 7 p.m. at the John B. Walker Soccer Complex, and admission is free with a ticket from Saturday’s football game against Kansas State.
