Texas Tech Hall of Fame & Hall of Honor Inductions Slated For November 1st

Texas Tech will make eight more additions to their Hall of Fame and Hall of Honor.

Six former student-athletes will be inducted into the Texas Tech Hall of Fame and two others will be added to the Hall of Honor on Friday, November 1st.

Those that will be inducted into the Hall of Fame include:

  • Rodney Blackshear – Football, 1987-91
  • Chris Blocker – Men’s Golf, 1959-61
  • Harold Denney – Men’s Basketball, 1962-65
  • Pat Hartsfield – Football, 1954-57
  • Lisa Hilgers – Volleyball, 1995-98
  • Kenny Vinyard – Football, 1966-68.

The Hall of Honor inductees for 2013 are Larry Anderson and Larry Hays.

Anderson has served as a player, coach, supporter, and the ongoing secretary/treasurer for the Letterwinners of Texas Tech.

Hays served as Texas Tech head baseball coach from 1987 until 2008. Hays’ final record stands at 1,508 wins and 806 losses, and he led Tech baseball to its only two regular-season conference championships and two tournament championships.

Tickets for the induction event can be purchased for $50 each and tables of eight are priced at $500. To purchase tickets or tables, call 742-1196 or email DTVC@ttu.edu.
