Texas Tech University was ranked second alongside Columbia, Stanford and the University of North Carolina for undergraduate degree holders to take their company’s public in 2014, reported the university.

Three Tech graduates announced initial public offerings in 2014, Steven Gray, CEO of RSP Permian, Inc.; Lynn Bourdon III of Enable Midstream Partners; and Jack Clem, CEO of Orion Engineered Carbons S.A. Bourdon and Clem have bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, Gray earned a bachelor’s in petroleum engineering.

Only Harvard University had more graduates announce IPO’s; they had seven reported Equilar.

According to Texas Tech’s Whitacre College of Engineering, approximately 450 graduates are presidents or CEO’s.
