The Texas Tech football training facility is undergoing construction and renovations. Crews are working to replace both the grass and Fieldturf practice surfaces.

The $2.4 million dollar project, funded entirely by donations, will see the FieldTurf moved to the west side of the training facility and the grass moved to the east side.

Both practice fields will not be operational for the Red Raiders this spring. The team will instead utilize the Petersen Family Indoor Practice Facility and Jones AT&T Stadium for their 15 upcoming practices.

The project is expected to be completed before football preseason practice in August. Kirby Hocutt, Director of Athletics, says the project was conceived in the early stages of developing the Sports Performance Center.

More upgrades to the training facility and the south end zone of Jones AT&T stadium are already in the works.
