The search for the next Texas Tech chancellor is now underway.

According to Larry Anders, chairman of the chancellor search committee, an executive search firm has been hired, a website has been created, and advertisements have been placed to assist in the applicant recruitment process.

The search committee consists of Board of Regents members Larry Anders, Debbie Montford, Nancy Neal, and John Walker.

The group has selected Wheless Partners Executive Search, a national search firm, to assist in the selection of the candidate.

“The search for our next chancellor is wide open and will be national in scope,” said Anders. “With the help of Wheless Partners, I am confident the search committee will be able to find highly qualified candidates to recommend to the Board of Regents.”

Those interested in more information on the position or how to apply are welcome to visit the website at http://www.texastech.edu/chancellor-search/.

Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance, who has served in the position since December of 2006, announced in October 2013 that he would retire from the position when a new chancellor is hired.

After the new chancellor is hired, Hance will become Chancellor Emeritus.
