Wednesday on Lubbock's First News, Grace Norman described the efforts of the Lubbock branch of the Texas Hunger Initiative.

The Initiative is working with schools to ensure children have healthy meals. The organization also works with churches and other institutions to enroll more people in the programs. Grace said, "Our ultimate goal is to make sure that Texans have three meals a day, seven days a week." Although it is recognized that ending hunger is not an immediate result, Grace noted that seeing the effects of the programs on individuals offers hope. She suggested that the public could help by sending people to the programs, advocating, and educating others.
