Aldawsari was convicted of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction in June
Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari's attorneys filed a request for a new trial Wednesday in a Lubbock court.
Aldawsari, who was arrested in February of 2011, was a former chemical engineering student at Texas Tech. He had a list of targets which included the Dallas home of former President George W. Bush.
Day two of the Khalid Aldawsari trial took place in Amarillo on Friday. Aldawsari's defense attorney argued that components to make a bomb were never opened.
Jury selection began today for the trial of Khalid Aldawsari. He is accused of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction with targets including former President George W. Bush's home.
The trial's location was moved by the new presiding judge, Judge Donald Walker
