The Supreme Court of the United States justices voted 5-4 to continue to allow the restriction requiring doctors who perform abortions in clinics to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.

The Associated Press and Austin American-Statesman reported Thursday evening that a three-judge panel of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals lifted an injunction against Texas recently passed abortion law, HB 2. The judicial panel granted the State of Texas' request for an emergency stay to lift the injunction blocking the law’s requirement that abortion doctors gain admitting privileges at a hospita

On the Wednesday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, state representative Charles Perry spoke with guest host Carl Tepper about the recent ruling on Texas abortion laws.

The law would require that doctors performing abortions also have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the clinic and follow stricter Federal Drug Administration protocols for pill-induced abortions.
