The South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will host a rare Open House event on Saturday, October 12th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to a press release, the Wildlife Center is only open to the public twice a year and the Open House gives the public a chance to see what happens at the center.

From 11:30 to 12:30 there will be a presentation called "Snakes of Texas" given by Dr. Lou Densmore of Texas Tech. The presentation will include live specimens and will include a Q&A session.

Those attending the Open House can take a self-guided tour of the center and have their questions answered by staff.

The South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is located at 3308 95th Street. Cost to attend the Open House is a $1.00 donation. Parking will be available just south of the center at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church.
