A hefty grant will help some disabled people through a local organization.

Sam’s Club announced the $20,000 donation to the Lubbock Caprock AMBUCS Tuesday at the Fibermax Caprock Classic basketball tournament.

The funds will go toward purchasing more amtrykes for the disabled, awarding scholarships to therapists, and building ramps for the disabled.

“Sam’s Club is pleased to support Lubbock Caprock AMBUCS as part of our local giving program and community involvement efforts,” Lubbock Sam’s Club Manager Max Esparza said.

“Our mission statement is to help create mobility for people with disabilities,” said Morry Martinez, AMBUCS president. “The grant will allow us to reach more people and help fulfill our mission statement.”
