Ruidoso Downs Prepares for This Weekend’s $3 Million All American Futurity
Ruidoso Downs Rack Track signature annual event is just days away from occurring. The Grade 1, $3 million All American Futurity will be held on Labor Day. The 2015 All American Futurity will pay out the largest purse in the world for any two-year-old horse race. This year's winner will receive half of the purse at $1.5 million.
The first post time is at Noon, Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), and there is free parking and free general admission at Ruidoso Downs.
The 440-yard All American Futurity field is comprised of the five-fastest horses from two days of trials. There were 326 entrants in the trials and 17 trials on each day. Post positions and jockeys for the futurity will be announced on Thursday.
According to Ruidoso Down Race Track, this year's favorite is First Valiant Sign. First Valiant Sign beat 31-1 odds to win in the Grade 1, $750,000 Ruidoso Futurity and then the horse finished second in the Grade 1, $1 million Rainbow Futurity.
