Ostrich and Camel Races at Ruidoso Downs, All American Derby and Futurity over Labor Day Weekend

Some unusual forms of racing will be held at Ruidoso Downs this weekend.

On Friday, August 30^th, Ruidoso Downs will offer camel and ostrich racing for the first time.

The Labor Day weekend is also highlighted by the Grade 1, $2.8 million All American Derby on Sunday and the Grade 1, $2.6 million All American Futurity on Monday.

“The All American weekend is all about the finest quarter horses racing for the largest purses and fun,” said Ruidoso Downs Marketing Director Eric Alvarez. “The camel and ostrich races are guaranteed fun for the entire family.”

First post time on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is noon. First post time on Monday is 12:30 p.m.
