A Shallowater man faces up to 20 years in prison for downloading child pornography.

42-year-old Ruben Cuellar pleaded guilty Friday to one count of transportation of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings.

Cuellar has been in custody since his arrest in March 2012 on related charges.

Undercover Lubbock police officers found that Cuellar had downloaded child pornography on the internet of children as young as six-years-old using the peer-to-peer sharing program Limewire.

Cuellar faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and a lifetime of supervised release.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven Sucsy of the U.S. Attorney’s office in Lubbock.
