On Thursday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Vanessa Baker from Quail Ridge talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about their upcoming Alzheimer's benefit events.

All summer long, Quail Ridge and the Lubbock Alzheimer's Association will be throwing a "Purple on the Patio" party at various bars and restaurants across Lubbock. During the party, attendees can purchase a $10 wristband to get extended happy hour prices on all beverages from 7 PM to 10 PM. All proceeds from the wristband will go to the Lubbock Alzheimer's Association. Baker said that this is the first year they have put on this sort of event, and that a purple dress code is strongly recommended.

The first party will take place Friday, June 14th at Stella's, located at 4646 50th Street. Other parties will take place June 28th at The Lantern Tavern, July 12th at The Gas Light lounge, and July 26th at Ruby Tequila's on University.
