Portion of Northwest Loop 289 to Close Sunday Morning

Utilities work will require a brief closure of northwest Loop 289.

The closure will begin on Sunday, November 11^th at 7:30 a.m.

Both the main lanes and frontage roads at the Quaker/Erskine interchange will close for the work.

The closure will allow Lubbock Power and Light to remove the overhead power lines that span across the roadway, and crews say the work could take up to an hour to complete.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area Sunday morning, and TxDOT crews will be assisting to detour traffic around the work area.
