Pedestrian Struck By Car In Accident on 50th Street

A pedestrian was fatally injured in Lubbock last night when he was hit by a truck while crossing a street.

The accident happened just after 8 P.M. on 50th Street and Avenue W. Police who arrived on the scene found the truck stopped in the middle of the street with a big dent in the middle of its hood.

The driver's mother told KAMC her son called to tell her he was driving down the road when a pedestrian seemed to pop up out of nowhere. The victim was reported to be a Hispanic man, but was not immediately identified.
