Texas Tech will present an opera about young bachelors and the faithfulness of their girlfriends this weekend.

Tech will present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte” at 7 p.m. Friday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 24th at the Texas Tech University Allen Theatre, located inside the Student Union Building.

In the opera, two young bachelors take a bet from their older friend to find out how devoted their sweethearts really are. The men disguise themselves as visitors from overseas to see if the women remain faithful, and more complications arise.

This two-act opera buffa was commissioned after the successful revival of “Le Nozze di Figaro” in August 1789. “Cosi Fan Tutte, ossia La scuola legli amanti” translated means “Thus Do They All, or The School of Lovers”, and was first performed in Vienna on January 26th, 1790.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $10 for students and children, not including service charges. The tickets can be purchased through Select-A-Seat by calling 770-2000 or visiting www.selectaseatlubbock.com.
