I'm glad that some people remember the old slogan, "Don't Drink and Drive," but in this case, a more appropriate slogan would be, "Don't Drink and let your 9-year-old Drive."

A Michigan dad is being charged with child abuse after letting his 9-year-old daughter drive him to the store because he was drunk. Police were alerted to the situation when someone saw the girl climb into the driver's seat at a gas station while her dad got into the passenger seat. The girl drove for a few miles before she was pulled over by police. The girl told police that her dad had been drinking whiskey all night and that he had let her drive before.

Now, if this was just a one-time really stupid idea, I might be able to forgive this.  But, this guy is a habitual offender, he's been to jail multiple times.  Not to mention that he put his daughter at risk with this stunt. (Personally, I don't think I'd go so far as to call it child abuse, but it's definitely endangerment to a child.) Maybe losing his daughter for a while will sober this guy up.
