One of the best events in Lubbock is happening on Saturday. The Miracles 34th Street Christmas Parade will be lighting up 34th Street on Saturday, December 9th beginning at 6:00 p.m. The theme for this year's parade is "A Twinkle of Hope". If you haven't been to the Miracles Christmas Parade before, you have been missing out.

Floats, cars, and those marching are decorated in Christmas lights and other Christmas decor. The parade will start at 34th and Avenue Q and end at 34th and Indiana. Those attending the parade can bring a new, unwrapped toy to benefit Toys for Tots. Marines will be collecting the toys during the parade.

Plan on it being chilly during the parade and possibly windy. Saturday's high is expected to be around 48 degrees and windy during the day. So plan accordingly. According to KAMC, first responder representatives and members of Matt Dawson's family will be the Grand Marshalls for this year's parade.

There will be plenty of parking and places to sit along the parade route but it's always a good idea to arrive early and get a seat.

And don't forget your hot chocolate!
