Lubbock's Women 's Protective Services is in need of Christmas gifts for the ladies they are serving at the shelter.

Generous donors have provided for the children at the shelter, but according to W.P.S. Director, Steven Garcia, they have no gifts for the 52 ladies currently residing at the shelter.

Garcia said they are needing gift cards to department stores, specialty stores, for things like manicures and pedicures, things that women enjoy.   He added that they have plenty of clothing donations and want to focus more on things that actually serve as Christmas gifts.

If you would like to give gift cards or monetary donations for this cause, simply call the Women's Protective Services hotline number at (806) 747-6491 and a representative from the center will pick it up.

If you are a victim of domestic violence or know someone who is, the same hotline number is for you.  Someone is available 24/7. (806) 747-6491.
