Lubbock Police have their suspect following a high-speed car chase through Central and Southwest Lubbock Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 8), police were dispatched to the Target along the Marsha Sharp freeway following a disturbance call. Once they arrived on the scene, Gary Leo (37) hopped behind the wheel of a car and took off.

After Leo crashed the vehicle near loop 289 and Quaker Avenue, he attempted to evade arrest by fleeing on foot.

The Lubbock Police Department reports Leo even ran into the Stewart Tile of Lubbock in an attempt to escape before jettisoning out the back door.

Still not done, Leo jumped into a truck and lead police on a second chase before abandoning the vehicle in an alley in the 1900 block of 34th St.

Police would eventually detain Leo. He's being charged for multiple crimes including evading arrest.

Leo is being held in the Lubbock County Jail on a $12,500 bond.
