"We're teaching kids to spend, save and share," Cathy Landtroop told Tom and Laura with Lubbock's First News about Lubbock's annual Lemonade Day.

In the earlier years of Lemonade Day, there were between 200-300 lemonade stands. In 2014, there was around 814 lemonade stands around the city of Lubbock. And each year it seems to get more and more competitive.

This year there's a new event event called "Bank Loan Day," which will be held April 9. On that day, kids can bring their business plans, thoughts on locations and how much they're going to charge to any of the participating banks to get a loan for their stand.

Lemonade Day will be Saturday, May 9, 2015.
