Lubbock Gas Prices Reach Record High — How High Will They Go?
How high will gas prices go? I don't know. What I do know is that the average price in Lubbock is as high as it's been since KFYO began its gas price survey a few years ago. Here's the latest, based on my weekly survey of Lubbock gas stations.
According to a KFYO survey, the average price for regular self-serve gas in Lubbock this week is $3.63 a gallon. That’s up 22 cents from last week.
Overall, prices for regular self-serve gas in Lubbock in the current survey range from $3.59 to $3.66 a gallon.
Prices around the rest of the state are about the same. According to a AAA Texas survey, the average price in Texas is $3.66 a gallon, up 14 cents from last week. The cheapest gas among the 11 Texas cities surveyed by AAA is in San Antonio, $3.59 a gallon. The most expensive is in Dallas, $3.68 a gallon.
It could be worse. Nationally, the average price is $3.74 a gallon, up 13 cents.
I hope to have better news next week.
