The High Plains Underground Water Conservation District Number 1 has scheduled four December workshops concerning the installation of commercial flow meters. The workshops will inform commercial flow meter installers about the latest meter rules, specs and installation rules.

The workshops will take place from 9a to 3p on the following dates:

December 6 - Hereford ISD Administration Building, 601 N. 25 Mile Avenue, Hereford

December 7 - Plainview Country Club, 2902 W. 4th Street, Plainview

December 8 & 9 - Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Center, 1102 E. FM 1294, Lubbock

Leon New, former Texas AgriLife Extension Irrigation Specialist, will lead the workshops.

Also, according to HPWD, representatives of meter manufacturing companies will be on hand to discuss their products and answer questions.

Each workshop is limited to 50 commercial meter installers and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Installers are asked to indicate their first and second choices for meeting dates when completing their registration.

Registration for the workshop is $75 per person and is due by November 30.  This includes attendance at the workshop, materials, exhibit hall, and lunch. Registration forms are available on the High Plains Water District's web site at www.hpwd.com
