Every year more and more Americans are supporting gay marriage in the United States. Even within the Republican Party, a debate is stirring over how to address gay marriage. Older voters are generally against gay marriage while younger voters support it. If you change the name to civil unions, support tracks up among all demographics including those in the GOP.

Last week, Ohio Senator Rob Portman announced that he now supports gay marriage. He made that announcement after finding out that his son is gay.
