On Thursday, United States Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) joined The Chad Hasty Show to talk about the ongoing debate centered around trade negotiations, the 'fast-track' authority that was given to the President, gay marriage and health care.

Sen. Cornyn provided information to clarify the different aspects of the trade issue, and how new rules and agreements may benefit Texas and agriculture producers in the state.

He also talked about the Affordable Care Act, (or Obamacare) and what might possibly be done to repeal it.

Sen. Cornyn said:

This is sold under false pretenses Chad, as you know, and it's proven to be a disaster for a lot of people who lost policies they liked, and those who've seen their premiums go up by, you know, high double-digits, and who have been left with huge deductibles which effectively have left them self-insured. So this is a disaster for a lot of people and for the country.

Sen. Cornyn also spoke on the recent Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage and how he believes basic values in the United States are being attacked:

I see the country under President Obama starting to look more like Europe than America, and that's why this 2016 election is so critical, and to clean up so much of the damage that has been done during the last seven years.

Republican John Cornyn of Texas has been serving in the United States Senate since 2002 and is the current Senate Majority Whip.
