AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — An autopsy has determined a nude teenager had marijuana and an anti-anxiety drug in his system when he was fatally shot by an Austin police officer.

Autopsy results on 17-year-old David Joseph were released Friday after details were provided to his family. The autopsy also found alprazolam, used to treat anxiety, and an antihistamine.

Police have said Joseph was shot and killed Feb. 8 by Officer Geoffrey Freeman when the teen refused orders to stop and charged at the officer.

Freeman initially responded to reports of one person chasing another at an Austin apartment complex, resumed patrol then came upon Joseph.

Joseph was black, as is Freeman — who was put on administrative leave after the shooting. An attorney for Freeman has he feared for his life before opening fire.
