A fitness organization is teaming with an area group to help feed the needy.

Curves has announced their 10th Annual Food Drive, but this time, they are partnering with the South Plains Food Bank.

The public may drop off nonperishable food items at many businesses in the Melonie Square Shopping Center, located near 80th Street and Indiana Avenue, including Curves, Dollar General, Lucy’s Boutique, Natural Beauty, Sew Lovely Alterations and Designs, and Resa’s. Items will also be taken at the Curves location at 19th Street and Frankford Avenue, as well as nearby Artistic Salon.

“We have enjoyed participating in the Curves food drive the past nine years,” said Curves owner Joy Engram. “But having become more involved with the South Plains Food Bank as volunteers, my husband and I have seen the need.”

The South Plains Food Bank helps one in five people across the South Plains. Items most needed by the SPFB include soups, beans, canned meats, cereals, pasta, rice, and peanut butter.
