The Lubbock County Commissioners Court yesterday voted to extend the county's burn ban for 90 days.  The ban prohibits all outdoor burning and any peace officer within the county may enforce the ban.  The ban has been in effect since the end of December 2010.

All welding, cutting and grinding operations are banned on days designated as Red Flag Warning days designated by the National Weather Service.

A person who violates the Lubbock County Burn Ban will be charged with a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine up to $500.
