There aren't many gas stations or travel centers in the United States that are as highly anticipated as the opening of a new Buc-ee's location. Cities across Texas and now the southern United States are almost competing with one another to get the giant beaver sign in the sky built in their city.

For Amarillo, the wait is almost over. Buc-ee's announced on Tuesday that they will break ground on its new location on Friday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m.

The new Buc-ee's will be located at 9900 East Interstate 40. The store will be 74,000 square feet and will have 108 fuel pumps plus 24 charging stations for electric vehicles. And of course, they will offer their favorite foods and amenities they are known for as well according to a press release sent out today.

Buc-ee's favorites, including Texas barbeque, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries, will all be available. Visitors will find thousands of snack, meal and drink options, as well as the same award-winning restrooms, cheap gas, quality products and excellent service that have won the hearts, trust and business of millions in the South for over 40 years.

Buc-ee's was founded in 1982 and now has 46 locations across Texas and in other southern states. For Texans and other travelers, it's more than a gas station. Buc-ee's have become tourist destination spots that can provide a boost to the local economy.
