Wednesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Ysidro Gutierrez, candidate for Mayor of Lubbock, joined the broadcast in the KFYO studio to talk about his run for the office.

Gutierrez and Hasty discussed issues facing the city, and Gutierrez described his reasons for wanting to be the next mayor, and his specific plans if elected.

Gutierrez shared details of his four-point plan for restoring economic health to the city of Lubbock, and the effects that high taxes, poor management and growing debt has on citizens and businesses. "The spending, the borrowing, the taxing that we've seen in city hall is a big problem. It's causing families to suffer and it's causing businesses to suffer," Gutierrez said.

As the first item on the list for his four-point plan for Lubbock, Gutierrez named number one, saying,

I believe that the 1.5 billion dollar debt that we [the city of Lubbock] have currently is irresponsible and foolish, and we need to end the borrowing spree, first off.
