This Monday, on Lubbock's First News, Sarah Clementine Mire discusses her participation in an upcoming music program.

A graduate at Frenship High School, Mire is a young opera singer with a surprising voice. She will be attending OperaMaya, a two week opera program in Mexico originally intended for college graduates. Replying to a compliment on her voice, Mire stated "it's a true gift. I'm blessed with the power as well as the training." This Thursday, a donation for Mire's trip, estimated to cost $3,500, will be taking place at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Although she has been courted by many universities, Mire stated her plans to study music at Texas Tech University.
