On the Tuesday edition of Lubbock's First News with Tom Collins and Laura Mac, Ambassador Tibor Nagy joined the show in the KFYO studio to talk about the volatile situation in the Middle-East, and yesterday's strike by Turkey against a Russian military jet.

Nagy discussed the incident, explaining what he believes took place. During the discussion Nagy said,

The Turks basically said, 'We are a real country, we mean it, stay out of Turkish airspace, and do not attack the Turkmen that are our cousins, you know, living in Syria. Because we will shoot you down.' Putin only understands firm action. Putin does not understand being lectured to, or being preached at like our President tends to do with him.

Nagy also talked about the recent controversial statements made by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and how seemingly nothing Trump can say will reduce his standings in polls. Nagy said,

I am just astounded that we take him as a serious candidate. But I think there's a lot deeper significance in this, as to how fed up the American people are with politics as usual.
