Phil Anthony, director of the Westwind Brass Band, joined Lubbock's First News to talk about the concerts in the park beginning this Sunday (June 7).

The Westwind Brass Band originated back in 1961 and was called the Lubbock Concert Band. Then in the 80s, it evolved into the Westwind Brass -- an all-brass band better suited for outdoor concerts.

"Each Sunday night it seems like the crowd increases," said Anthony. "It gets stronger and stronger."

The concerts will take place seven consecutive Sundays, with the first one being this Sunday (June 7) from 8 to 9 p.m. at the Wagner Park gazebo located on 26th and Flint.
