Over 500 Pounds of Weed Seized by Texas Cops
The New Braunfels Police Department (NBPD) has been busy as they made two major traffic stops over the past weekend.
Friday's Lack of TLC with the THC
The first bust came on Friday when NBPD seized more than 1300 grams (just under three pounds) of THC cartridges during a traffic stop. The four people in the vehicle were all from Corpus Christi and, after the cartridges were discovered, were transported to the Comal County Jail.
The four arrested included a 17-year-old, two 18-year-olds, and a 20-year-old. The four young adults were charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, but each posted their own $50,000 bond.
Saturday's Massive Weed Seizure
NBPD stopped a man who I can only assume was on his way to a Snoop Dogg watch party hosted by Willie Nelson, as he was caught transporting over 500 pounds of marijuana.
The 53-year-old male, who is a resident of Oklahoma, was sent to the Comal County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
Check out the Facebook post from the New Braunfels PD detailing the events that took place. As this adorable canine officer who proudly poses next to his haul, it's assumed that he was involved with this bust as well.
The comments from this post are mixed. Many are claiming this is a waste of police efforts while the "real criminals" are on the loose. Others say this was a win for the New Braunfels community.
So, what do YOU think? Were these valid police responses to lawbreakers or a waste of everyone's time?
